Service academy info night set Wednesday

The 23rd annual Service Academy Information Night, offering students, parents, and other residents a variety of information on America’s service academies, is set for Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Danversport Yacht Club.

The public is invited to the club, located at 161 Elliott St., Danvers, to learn about undergraduate education and training for the U.S. armed forces. School representatives’ booths will be open from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Then, brief overviews of each program will be shared from 7 to 8 p.m.

From 8 to 9:30 p.m., attendees can speak with representatives from 15 service schools and academies, and with academy cadets and midshipmen.

Congressional staffers will also be present to discuss the academies’ appointment, selection and nomination process. Information on scholarships for Reserve Officers’ Training Corps will also be available.
