Manchester police/fire

MANCHESTER — The fire department responded to Beach Street near the Cape Ann Savings Bank at 5 p.m. Thursday after a report came in about a 76-year-old man who had fallen in the area. Authorities transported him to Beverly Hospital for leg soreness and arm lacerations.

A South Hamilton man was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor on Thursday night at 9:56 p.m. after police stopped him on Route 128 South. Mark Hargrave III, 55, of Bridge St., South Hamilton, was charged with his second drunken driving offense, failure to stop for police and failure to stay in marked lanes. His bail was set at $40 and he was arraigned in Salem District Court yesterday morning.
