---- — ESSEX — Police are investigating an ongoing dispute between two residents after one claimed that the other tried to strike him with a vehicle.

Town police said that charges may be pending regarding the claim that came across police desks Saturday about 12:33 p.m.

Police said a resident reported another driver passing cars illegally and driving to endanger Saturday about 4:24 p.m., but officers took no action other than filing a report because the license plate number provided did not match the vehicle the person described, police said.

Police notified the state Department of Public Works of a road drain that was backed up near Woodman’s, causing the eastbound lane of Main Street to flood Sunday about 9:41 p.m., police said.

The Department of Public Works removed a small tree from the Apple Street roadway, where the tree had fallen and was blocking travel lanes Monday about 7 a.m., police said.
