Essex Police/Fire: Burglar alarms prove fales

Essex Police/Fire

ESSEX — Police responded to a burglar alarm sounding at a Cogswell Court home Thursday about 1:26 a.m., but found the building was secure, police said.

Police also responded three times to a burglar alarm sounding at a Main Street business Thursday between 1:16 p.m. and 3:22 p.m.. Responding officers, however, again found the building secure each time, and surmised that wind had set off the alarm.

Police notified National Grid of minor sparking from a fuse on a Main Street telephone pole after a resident reported the sparks Thursday about 5:11 p.m.

People trespassing on Scotts Way Thursday about 10:23 p.m. agreed to leave the area after officers asked them to go, according to police.
