---- — ROCKPORT — Almost 30 high school students are facing charges after police broke up a New Year’s Eve party.

A Millbrook Park resident called police at 11:19 p.m. Monday to complain about the noisy party.

When police arrived, they found an intoxicated juvenile, asleep, near the train station on Railroad Avenue. The juvenile was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, and as police worked, they spotted several underage residents in a commercial office space near Sandy Bay Machine on 31 Poole’s Lane.

As a result, criminal complaints are being issued to 29 high-school-age youths, police said. They are facing charges of breaking and entering, minors in possession of alcohol, and trespassing.

Police could not give names of the people involved because the majority are minors. Police did say the father of one of the minors rents retail space where the party was broken up.

The criminal complaints were to arrive in Gloucester District Court this morning. Police said a number of the minors may receive youthful diversion, depending on any previous criminal history.

At 5:12 p.m. on Monday, a female Pigeon Hill Street resident was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital.

On Tuesday at 4:49 p.m., a male Granite Street resident was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital.

At 8:57 p.m. Tuesday, police assisted a female Curtis Street resident from the floor after she’d reportedly fallen.
