Rockport Police/Fire: Parked car sparks police probe

ROCKPORT — Police responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked at Granite Savings Bank on Main Street.

Police said the vehicle had New Jersey license plates, but because it was parked on private property, they said they cannot have it towed.

Local officers got a call from Wakefield police officers to be on the lookout for a runaway juvenile at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police believed the juvenile had family in the area, and reported Gloucester police officers had found her around 1 a.m. on Thursday.

Officials from the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office in New Hampshire contacted Rockport police officers at 12:33 a.m. looking for a Rockport resident.

Police said the resident was involved in a car accident in North Hampton, N.H. Sheriff’s officers later found the Rockport resident in North Hampton.

A landlord of a Prospect Street residence called police at 10:46 a.m., claiming that a tenant who had just moved out took things not belonging to him.

A female Forrest Street resident was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital after falling Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.
