West Parish pupils rally for MCAS tests

Test-takers' skits tell classmates to eat, relax

Pupils and staff at West Parish Elementary School held a pep rally last Friday to encourage, motivate, celebrate and support the third-, fourth- and fifth-graders who started their MCAS exams this Tuesday.

The younger grades and a group of teachers each presented spirited skits encouraging them all to rest, relax, take breaks, be themselves and eat properly in preparation for the exams.

The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System English composition exam was to be administered to public school students in the fourth, seventh and 10th grades on Tuesday but the state canceled because of a snowstorm. Students will now take the test this Monday, March 25.
