Rockport Police/Fire: Homeless woman prompts responses

---- — ROCKPORT — Sunday just before 10 p.m., police received reports of a woman knocking on residents’ doors, asking to stay there.

Police said the woman was apparently homeless. Police spoke to the woman and she was sent on her way.

Around 10:30 p.m., the same woman was reported by School Street residents. Officers responded and spoke to her again.

Police received a report of a case of identity theft Monday around 7 a.m.

Police had no other information available, however, and the issue is under investigation.

Friday at 10:15 p.m., police received reports of a group of youths in the former IGA parking lot on Railroad avenue. Police spoken to the kids, who soon left the area.

Police also responded to reports of a disturbance at Sandy Bay Estates at 7 p.m. Saturday. Police said a party left the Sandy Bay Terrace apartment complex.

Friday at 3:50 a.m., police responded to a residential burglar alarm on Quarry Run. Responding officers, however, found it to be a false alarm.

Police received another residential burglar alarm on Shane Avenue Saturday at 2:15 p.m., but police said that proved to be a false alarm as well.

A false fire alarm at the Unitarian Universalist church on Cleaves street was reported to police just before 10 a.m. on Sunday.
