Wellspring House of Gloucester held its 14th Annual Women Honoring Women Luncheon earlier this month with over 670 in attendance.
This year's honorees were long-time Wellspring volunteer Betsy Brown of Manchester, The Open Door's Executive Director Julie LaFontaine of Essex, and Barbara Lynch, one of Boston's and the country's leading chefs and restaurateurs. Lynch also was the keynote speaker.
"There is nothing more powerful than a community who comes together to serve inspired by compassion. Wellspring is celebrating 30 years of service empowered by this spirit, and we know firsthand that hope is made real when people of good will commit to moving forward together," said Kay O'Rourke, Wellspring's executive director.
For 30 years, Wellspring House has empowered individuals and families to live more secure lives through basic needs assistance, education and job training. For more information on Wellspring, visit their website at www.wellspringhouse.org.
