Rockport Police/Fire: Boy, 11/2 , quickly returned to family

ROCKPORT — Police received a call at 11:50 a.m. Sunday regarding a 11/2 year-old boy who was playing alone in a park on Story Street.

Police found that the boy had wandered away from his family, but was quickly returned to them.

Patrick Clark, 25, of Witham Street, Gloucester, was arrested on an outstanding warrant in the wake of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street at 10:42 a.m. Sunday.

Police found graffiti on exterior of the restrooms on Front Beach at 1:19 p.m. Friday. The incident is under investigation.

Police were called to a Main Street residence for a domestic issue at 3 p.m. Friday. Officers found that two roommates were having an argument over the phone and via text messages, but no charges were filed.

A Main Street resident was told to stop burning his trash at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, since there was a red flag warning in effect.

A fire caused by a lit cigarette and some mulch on Broadway was out before the Fire Department arrived at 1:40 p.m. Monday.

Police received a call at 3:28 p.m. Saturday from a Main Street woman who reported "large and unusual scat on her deck." The woman wanted police to identify the animal that had left the scat, and police referred her to the dog officer.
