ESSEX — An officer on patrol noticed that a motor vehicle on Pickering Street had its interior lights on at 12:24 a.m. yesterday and was able to turn them off.
A Fire Department ambulance responded to a Western Avenue residence at 10:26 p.m. Sunday and transported one patient to Beverly Hospital for evaluation.
A report was called into police at 6:17 p.m. Sunday that someone was stealing picnic tables on Eastern Avenue and an officer responded to the report of suspicious activity. It turns out that the person was delivering stones for a seawall.
At 11:40 a.m. Sunday, the Fire Department responded to an Eastern Avenue parking lot for a well-being check. The person was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by the department's ambulance.
A Chebacco Terrace resident called 911 at 5:08 p.m. Saturday to ask police to call a taxi cab to bring him to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He refused treatment and said he called 911 because his pre-paid phone was out of minutes.
The Fire Department was called to Manchester for station coverage at 5:46 a.m. Saturday and returned to town by 6:29 a.m.
An officer on patrol checked on a man walking along Main Street at 12:11 a.m. Saturday. Apparently the man was waiting for a cab to get home to Gloucester.
At 11:26 p.m. Friday, an officer approached a parked vehicle at Essex Elementary School. There were two people in the car who said that they were just talking. The officer explained that the school grounds are closed at night and told them to move along.
