Essex Police/Fire: People at elementary school draw police response

ESSEX — Police on patrol Sunday at 1:46 a.m., noticed a group of people congregating outside the Essex Elementary School.

Police said the group of people were simply asked to leave, since the school was closed. There were no charges filed.

A missing dog was recovered in Chebacco Lake Sunday at 8:32 p.m. Police said the dog was being safely held at a nearby residence on Coral Hill Road until the animal control officer was notified.

Essex police, acting on the request of Peabody Police officers, visited a Spring Street man at his home Saturday at 6:47 p.m. regarding an alleged hit-and-run car accident. Essex police told the man to contact the Peabody Police Department.

Police issued a verbal warning to trespassers on Centennial Grove Friday at 8:32 p.m. There were no charges filed.
