Rockport Police/Fire: Strange odor blamed on hot appliance

ROCKPORT — A strange odor prompted a resident to call police for some assistance Thursday morning.

Officers said they assisted an “elderly” Forrest Street woman who reported the strange odor in her apartment.

Police said the odor seemed to stem from an appliance overheating.

A Norwood Avenue woman was transported by ambulance to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester on Wednesday about 4:15 p.m.
