Essex Police/Fire: Late-night visit prompts police call

Essex Police/Fire

ESSEX — A Lakeview Road woman reported that a man who seemed intoxicated was knocking on her door about 1:46 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The woman said she was unable to provide a description of the man, according to police. But officers said another person returning home to the residence saw a suspicious man walking away from the home on Western Avenue, wearing blue jeans, a T-shirt, and a baseball cap.

Police are investigating.

Town officers assisted Hamilton police in serving a restraining order to a Belcher Street resident Monday about 12:04 p.m.

Police said the defendant is an Essex resident, but the person filing the restraining order may be from Hamilton.
