Gloucester Police/Fire: Fair Street intruder draws police call

A Fair Street resident called Gloucester police after an intoxicated man reportedly walked into his house Tuesday night.

The man said he was awkaned by someone yelling “hello” at his door. When he opened the door, he saw a tall man with sandals and a blue coat standing in the doorway.

The man asked the resident if the woman with three kids who drove him home the previous night lived at the home, and asked to confirm the house’s address. The resident told him no, the woman did not live there, and that the house number he asked about isn’t an actual address.

The intoxicated man left before officers arrived, and police couldn’t find him.

Firefighters transported a two-month-old girl from Montvale Avenue to Beverly Hospital at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night.

They responded after a call reported that the infant wasn’t breathing. When they arrived, they found her breathing and very alert, but suspected she’d had a seizure and took her to Beverly Hospital.

A Washington Street man called police and said his phone had been stolen.

He called Tuesday night at 7:33 p.m. and said that he lost his phone at Addison Gilbert Hospital on Oct. 8 and that a Google service indicated that the phone was in Central Falls. R.I. Gloucester police contacted Central Falls police and notified detectives.

After a woman on Granite Street called police to report solicitors in the neighborhood, police responded at 7:16 p.m. Tuesday and found a crew from Just Energy, a National Grid program, and told them to check in with police before making rounds.

Officers also reminded the crew that soliciting isn’t allowed after dusk.
