Officers are seeking criminal complaints for assault and battery against a Rowley man after he forcibly pulled his ex-girlfriend out of his car on Friday.
The ex-girlfriend called police at 7:19 p.m. on Saturday and said that she went to see the man, Michael Pupulo, 21, of 803 Haverhill St. in Rowley, at Market Basket Friday night. When he saw her, she said, he told her to go away. She followed him to his car and got in. According to police reports, she said he told her to get out or he would drag her out.
He then forcibly removed the woman from the car, left her on the ground, and drove off, according to the police report.
Police have charged a Melrose man with assault and battery after he allegedly punched an employee at the Ocean View Inn on Atlantic Road.
The employee told police, Sunday at 1:43 a.m. that a man, later identified as Mark Curran, 32, of 187 Lebanon St., Melrose, was causing a disturbance outside. When he went out to tell Curran to quiet down, Curran punched the employee in the head.
Curran was a guest at a wedding at Ocean View, and left before officers arrived. Other guests gave police his name and address, according to the police report.
Police arrested a homeless man after they broke up a crowd outside of the Cape Ann Savings Bank building, Sunday at 1:04 a.m.
When they dispersed the crowd, one man Steven Thayer, 22, refused to leave, according to police. He appeared intoxicated and police arrested him for disorderly conduct.
During the arrest, he told officers he planned to rob a taxi and a store on Main Street. Police tacked on a charge of threatening to commit a crime.
The owner of BIPP Construction on Pond Road told police that, three weeks ago, 15 boards measuring 12 feet long and two-by-four-foot boards and a 38-foot aluminum ladder were taken from the company lot on Pond Road. He called at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday. The man had no suspects.
A Mansfield Street man told police that three men beat him up at 12:48 a.m. on Saturday.
The man appeared intoxicated, police reports stated, and couldn’t provide a description of the three men beyond describing their race. He called again to report the same incident again at 1:44 a.m.
