Rockport Police/Fire: 80-year-old injured on way to see whale carcass

ROCKPORT — An 80-year-old Rockport woman was taken to the hospital after she was injured in a fall during a walk to see the beached corpse of a whale.

The woman fell on a footpath off Penzance Road and was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester to treat injuries sustained in the fall Saturday about 12:25 p.m., according to police.

Police notified the cable company of a low hanging wire on Parker Street on Saturday about 3:26 p.m.

A Curtis Street woman was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital on Sunday about 3:47 p.m.

A South Street man was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital Sunday about 3:55 p.m.
