---- — A 28-year-old Gloucester resident was charged with assault and battery, after a witness told police he struck a woman on the face with an open hand and threw a soda can at a wall, causing it to explode Saturday about 1:11 a.m., police said.
Daniel P. Green, or 3 Swinson Way, had grown angry when the woman left the bar where the two had been drinking, then followed the woman to the School Street apartment, where the argument became physical, according to the police report.
A 22-year-old Kansas man was arrested on Sadler Street on a charge of assault and battery after a witness reported the man, Ryan Zachary Welch, shoving a woman toward a vehicle and slamming her between the vehicle and vehicle door three times. The incident occurred Saturday at about 3:02 p.m., police said.
Another neighbor reported hearing screaming and seeing Welch throwing baby bottles and other baby items out of the car. Police are notifying the state’s Department of Children and Families that a child was present during the altercation.
A Chestnut Street woman parked her car at the bottom of the street and later found it with all of the doors unlocked and its registration and spare key missing Monday about 4:07 p.m., according to police.
Police advised the woman to change the car locks and contact police if any more issues arise.
