Essex Police/Fire

ESSEX — Town police received reports of horses running loose in the area of Lufkin Street Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Police said that when officers arrived, the owner already had the horses under control and was walking them back toward Concord Street in Gloucester.

Police were alerted to another animal-related call around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. A Milk Street resident phoned police to report a dead fox near their property; the animal control officer was notified and responded to remove the animal.
