Motorcyclist hurt in crash now in 'good' condition

Thomas Misuraca, a Gloucester resident injured in a Beverly motorcycle accident, was listed in "good" condition on Thursday morning after undergoing surgery Wednesday.

Police say Misuraca was struck by Ann Walker, 65, of 566 Hale St., Beverly, as she pulled out of her driveway Tuesday around 9:09 p.m. She could not see down the road; a trailer parked along the side obscured her view, according to Patrolman David Costa.

The trailer's owners placed the vehicle on the side of the road as they try to sell it.

"She pulled out and didn't see the motorcycle," Costa said.

Police said Misuraca remained conscious and alert at the crash site but sustained serious injuries. A Boston MedFlight helicopter lifted him to the hospital following the crash in Beverly's Prides Crossing.

State police are investigating due to the severity of the accident.

Police issued a citation to Walker for failure to yield.

A Boston Medical Center spokesman noted Thursday that Misuraca's condition continues to improve.
