Municipal meetings that are open to the public and scheduled for this week in Gloucester submitted by the city of Gloucester's Committee on Citizen Participation and Public Information.

Today

Downtown Development Committee, 6 p.m., Council Committee Room, first floor, City Hall.

Tuesday

City Council, 7 p.m., Kyrouz Auditorium, City Hall. Meeting includes initial public hearing regarding a proposed hotel overlay district for Commercial Street. Planning Board and council's Planning and Development subcommittee have recommended approval of the proposal.

Licensing Board, 6:30 p.m., Sawyer Free Library.

Wednesday

School Committee, 7 p.m., Kyrouz Auditorium, City Hall.

Budget and Finance subcommittee, 5:30 p.m., Third Floor Conference Room, City Hall. Meeting includes fiscal 2013 budget review, with an overview of revenues, special reserves, educational and state aid "cherry sheet" assessments.

Thursday

Zoning Board of Appeals, 7 p.m., Kyrouz Auditorium, City Hall.

Budget and Finance subcommittee, 5:30 p.m., Kyrouz Auditorium, City Hall; fiscal 2013 budget review — schools.

Ad Hoc Water Committee, 6:30 p.m., Third Floor Conference Room, City Hall.
