Southbound lanes at bridge closing periodically today

The southbound lanes of Route 128 over the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge are being closed "periodically" today because of the ongoing reconstruction of the bridge, according to state police this morning.

A closure around 10 a.m. was expected to last between 10 and 15 minutes and police were encouraging motorists to seek another route, presumably the Cut Bridge to Essex Avenue.

State police could not offer any further details about how many closures there would be today or how long each would last.
