---- — For me, there is no bad time for ice cream, so a week from Sunday will be a great day.

Captain Dusty’s, a staple of Manchester and Essex, will giving away half its profits for the final day of the 2012 season in Essex — Sunday, Dec. 30 — in a fund-raiser for The Wellspring House.

The Wellspring House helps families and individuals on Cape Ann and the North Shore move out of poverty and live more fulfilling lives through job training, provide affordable housing and also acts as an emergency center.

John Bartlett, owner of the local ice cream shop, said it’s a great way to enjoy some ice cream and give to those who really need it.

Dusty’s Manchester branch closed on Oct. 23, and nearly $200 was donated from its final day to Wellspring House as well.
