---- — GLOUCESTER — Police responded to a report of a sounding alarm on Mount Pleasant Street Wednesday about 11:18 a.m., but found that the signal was coming from an old fire alarm that bad been thrown in the trash.

Police disconnected the alarm’s battery, and the sound stopped.

Police warned a Pleasant Street man to quiet down multiple times early Thursday morning, threatening arrest on the last warning. Police visited the man’s house three times between 1:30 a.m. and 2:20 a.m., when neighbors called with complaints of a resident being loud, according to police.

No charges, however, were filed.
