Essex Police/Fire: Sailsbury woman faces heroin charge

ESSEX — A Salisbury woman is facing a heroin charge among other allegations after she was stopped by Essex police Tuesday just before 7 a.m.

Officer Justin Zwicker charged Cassandra Thomas, 29, of Beach Road in Salisbury with possession of heroin, driving without a license and being in default on a warrant out of Gloucester District Court.

Police said that Thomas also had a needle with her, and is facing a civil citation for marijuana possession.

Police said an Essex woman was stopped for a traffic offense on Centennial Grove Road around 6 p.m. Tuesday, and faces a marijuana citation.

Tuesday, just before 1 p.m. on Lufkin Street, police assisted with two tractor-trailer trucks someone had hired to help them in a move. Police said a detail was required to help the movers.

Police said a report of a suspicious person walking around Belcher Street Tuesday around 1:20 a.m. turned out to be a resident looking for a pet cat.

Police responded to a report of children breaking into the Centennial Grove cottage around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, but the cottage was fine when they arrived.

Police helped move a trailer that was blocking off Burnham Court around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
