St. Peter's Fiesta 2012 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Tonight

Conclusion of the Novena to St. Peter, 7 p.m., American Legion Hall.

Wednesday

6 p.m. — Carnival opens in St. Peter's Square; "wristband night" allows kids to ride as often as they want for one price.

7 to 10 p.m. — Musical entertainment, main stage; "Sinatra & Friends" impersonators

Thursday

6 p.m. — Carnival opens.

6 p.m. — Fiesta 5K Road Race, cosponsored with Cape Ann YMCA; starts at St. Peter's Square.

8 to 11:30 p.m. — Youth Block Dance, with D.J. Sam Santuccio, St. Peter's Park.

Friday

Noon — Carnival and main grounds open for the day.

4:45 p.m — Greasy Pole Contest, and Women's Seine Boat Races, Pavilion Beach.

6:30 p.m... — Entertainment, before opening ceremonies.

7:30 p.m. — Formal opening ceremonies; St. Peter's Square, with entertainment immediately following, to 11:30 p.m. Music by Seabreeze.

Saturday

9:30 a.m... — Youth and adult soccer games, Newell Stadium.

10 a.m. — Special seine boat races, Pavilion Beach. Military Seine Boat Race: U.S. Coast Guard vs U.S. Navy. Public Safety race: Gloucester Fire Department vs. Gloucester Police Department.

2:30 p.m. — Championship Series, youth basketball tournament, Fort Playground (Rain date is Sunday, July 1)

3 p.m. — Children's games, Beach Court.

4:45 p.m. — Seine boat races and Greasy Pole contest, Pavilion Beach.

8 to 11:30 p.m. — Musical entertainment, St. Peter's Square. Aaron Caruso, his band (www.aaroncaruso.com) and comedian.

Sunday

10 a.m. — Celebration of the Mass of St. Peter, with Cardinal Sean O'Malley, Archdiocese of Boston, main altar, St. Peter's Square.

Noon — Procession following the celebration of the outdoor Mass.

3 p.m. — Blessing of the Fleet, Stacy Boulevard.

3 p.m. — Concert, U.S. Navy Band Northeast, St. Peter's Square.

4:45 p.m. — Seine boat races and Greasy Pole contest, Pavilion Beach.

6 to 7 p.m — Concert, St. Alfio's Band, St. Peter's Square.

6:30 p.m. — Children's pinata contest, Pascucci Court.

7:15 p.m. — Awards ceremony; trophies awarded to winners of the sports events.

8:30 p.m. — Musical entertainment, St. Peter's Square, featuring Gianni Faraone with Ray Cavichio and his mini Big Band & Natalie Pinto.

11 p.m. — Raffle drawings and closing procession.
