Gloucester Police/Fire: Stop sign stop triggers license charge

Gloucester Police/Fire

GLOUCESTER — Police arrested a 40-year-old Waltham man for driving without a license after he reportedly failed to stop at a posted “stop” sign.

Police stopped Danny Gonzalez on Rogers Street after he drove past the sign at the intersection of Prospect and Main Streets without stopping, police said.

Police said Gonzalez admitted to not having a drivers’ license and provided police with a Guatemalan passport.

Tally’s Towing removed Gonzalez’s vehicle after police arrested the man.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Gloucester man on charges of violating an abuse order and assault by means of a dangerous weapon Tuesday about 9:33 p.m.

Craig Young Jr. of Atlantic Road was arrested after police found him walking down Friend Street away from the scene of the alleged crime, according to police.

Police said Young denied throwing a fork and knife at a person — the weapons cited in the assault charge.

Eric J. Oliveira, 29, of Blyman Avenue in Gloucester was arrested on Mansfield Street on charges of violating a restraining order Tuesday about 10:49 p.m., according to police.
