---- — Police here helped a woman obtaining an emergency protective order Tuesday night against a Virginia man who had come to Gloucester to find her.
The woman had left Virginia after the man held a semi-automatic pistol to her head and his own, according to police.
Gloucester police contacted a judge on call when the woman contacted them about 10:23 p.m., saying she had reason to believe the man had been or was in the city. The judge issued a protective restraining order. Police then made contact with the Virginia man who was served the order without any issues by 10:56 p.m., according to local police.
Brian Joyce was arrested at his home on Sadler Street in Gloucester on a warrant Thursday about 9:03 a.m. It was not clear why there was a warrant for his arrest.
