Essex Police/Fire: Phone, owner reunited

ESSEX — A cellphone and its owner are back together, thanks to a good Samaritan.

On Thursday, shortly after 11 a.m., a person turned a cell phone in to police at the Martin Street station.

Police were able to locate and notify the owner, who picked up the phone.

Police were asked to check on a John Wise Avenue resident at 10:32 Friday morning. The responding officer said everything was fine.

A fire alarm was set off at 11:19 a.m. Thursday at a Western Avenue business. The alarm was set off by mistake.
