---- — MANCHESTER — A neighborhood went dark late Thursday night and police were hit with a barrage of calls.

Residents of Boardman Avenue, and Bridge and Harbor streets called around midnight Thursday to report their power was out. Police notified National Grid and the power company sent a crew to work on the problem. Police reported that crew was still working as of 2 p.m. Friday.

It was not clear whether the residents had regained power or not at press time Friday.

A fire alarm went off at 9:40 p.m. Thursday on Tucks Point Road. Before police could respond, Fire Department officials notified them it was a false alarm.
