Taste-Off brings out local pizza lovers

Taste-Off benefit draws crowds to Cruiseport

Two weeks ago, diners sampled a wide variety of foods at the annual Taste of Cape Ann.

Wednesday night, pizza lovers had the spotlight all to themselves at Cruiseport Gloucester.

The occasion was the sixth annual Pizza Taste-Off, hosted and presented by members of the Gloucester High School Interact Club, an affiliate of the Gloucester Rotary Club. And last night, it once again drew more than 200 people to sample pizzas and cast their votes to determine which of the 12 participating vendors served up the best pie.

Beyond the competing local restaurants and pizzerias, the real winner was the Cape Ann Relay For Life. All of the proceeds raised at Wednesday night’s event were to go to the Relay and the American Cancer Society.
