Essex Police/Fire: N.H. woman faces heroin charge

ESSEX — A woman from Exeter, N.H., is facing several charges after police responded to a report of an erratic operator Wednesday around 9:30.

Lisa M. Kelly, 43 of Alder Street, Exeter, was stopped on Main Street after police received calls about her erratic driving, and she was arrested shortly after.

Kelly is being charged with possession of heroin, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with an open container, and a marked lanes violation.

Wednesday morning just before 7:30, police stopped a Gloucester man on John Wise Avenue after running a search on his plate number.

Rubens DaSilva, 48, of Oak Street, Gloucester was issued a criminal complaint for driving without a license.

Another vehicle was stopped for the same reason Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. on Main Street. Carla Alves, 26, of Margin Street in Peabody is also facing a criminal complaint for driving without a license.

A resident called to report vandalism to a barn in the area of Rocky Hill Wednesday just after 12:30 p.m. Police said the barn door had been kicked in and torn off; the caller merely wanted the incident on record, police said.

Police received a report of a possible trespasser near the fire tower off of Southern Avenue. Police said that, when they arrived, they found some music playing inside of the tower, but nobody was present.
