Essex Police/Fire: Furry invader escapes home on his own

ESSEX — A Lake Shore Drive resident called police Monday afternoon for aid in evicting an unwanted guest — of the furry variety.

The resident called at 3:12 p.m. Monday, requesting help in evicting a squirrel from the house.

However, when police arrived, the varmint had left on its own.

Police and firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Chebacco Terrace residence at 4:11 p.m. Monday. Firefighters vented the home, filled with smoke from burning food.

A Pond Street resident was the recipient of public service assistance after calling for medical aid Tuesday at 7:02 a.m.
