Gloucester Police/Fire: Burn victim transported from Varian

Gloucester Police/Fire

GLOUCESTER — A man suffering electrical burns was transported from the Varian/Applied Materials campus in Blackburn Industrial Park to Addison Gilbert Hospital Tuesday about 8:25 p.m., according to police.

No further information was available as of Wednesday.

A woman called police to report she had received a prank phone call, with the caller saying a movie would be filmed on her road Wednesday with a high-speed chase scene and explosion scene.

Though the caller ultimately told the woman the call was a joke, she reported the incident to police because the mention of an explosion made her distraught, reminding her of a natural gas explosion in which she had been injured.

Police tried to call the phone number, but the number had been disconnected, according to the report.
