MANCHESTER — Police received reports twice between Wednesday night and Thursday morning of a Verizon manhole cover on Beach Street popping off into the roadway.

The cover first lifted off about 5:07 p.m., and police notified Verizon and placed cones around the cover, according to police.

The cover came loose again at 4:29 a.m., police said.

A resident reported a sink hole on Woodhome Road Wednesday about 5:33 p.m., and police notified the Department of Public Works of the issue.
