Manchester Police/Fire: City man faces DUI charge in Manchester

MANCHESTER — Manchester police arrested a 22-year-old Gloucester man on Pine Street at 10:01 p.m. Wednesday on charges of drunken driving and failing to stop for a police officer.

According to Manchester police, Joseph Blanchard of Spring Street was allegedly driving erratically and would not pull over when police signaled to do so.

After calling for backup from Essex Police Department, Manchester Sgt. Todd Fitzgerald managed to stop Blanchard, who allegedly appeared to be intoxicated.

Blanchard was arraigned and released on bail Thursday morning, police said.
