Sled hockey -- it's not your ordinary hockey game. The players -- most of them paraplegics or amputees -- are seated in bladed sleds, using their sticks to propel them. But while off the ice their mobility might be limited, on the ice, they can fly.

Wellspring honors women
Wellspring House of Gloucester held its 14th Annual Women Honoring Women Luncheon earlier this month with over 670 in attendance.

This year's honorees were long-time Wellspring volunteer Betsy Brown of Manchester, The Open Door's Executive Director Julie LaFontaine of Essex, and Barbara Lynch, one of Boston's and the country's leading chefs and restaurateurs. Lynch also was the keynote speaker. -
