MANCHESTER — Police said an apparent attempt at check fraud is under investigation.

A Beaver Dam Road man reported the attempted fraud Thursday at 11:46 a.m.

Police said Manchester’s animal control officer returned a dog that was found near Summer and Sea Streets to its home on Smith Street Thursday around 11:50 a.m.

On Thursday, police said a woman walked into the police station around 3 p.m. to file a report about a civil matter, police said they advised her to take the issue through the proper court channels.
