ESSEX — Police received a call about alleged “suspicious activity” in the area of Conomo Point Wednesday at 4:07 p.m.

The call was probably about a hunter in camouflage carrying a firearm near the marsh area, police said, but they could not find anyone when they arrived.

Town police notified Verizon about low-hanging wires reported on County Road Wednesday at 9:41 a.m.
