ME Hornets top Brighton 42-28 for playoff win

CAMBRIDGE — Chris Dumont ran for three second-half touchdowns tonight as the Manchester Essex Regional Hornets rallied to a 42-28 win over Brighton High in the Division 5 North Sectional football playoffs at Harvard Stadium.

The win for the Hornets, the sixth seed with a record now of 5-3, carries the team into next week’s semifinals against either second-seeded Northeast Regional Tech or Lowell Catholic. Brighton had been the tournament’s No. 3 seed, and came into tonight’s game with a perfecft record of 7-0.
