Gloucester Police/Fire: Two hurt in Cherry Street crash

Gloucester Police/Fire

Two people were injured when their vehicles collided head-on while traveling in opposite directions on Cherry Street Thursday about 3:08 p.m.

One woman who was transported to an area hospital by ambulance had been riding as a passenger in one vehicle. The other injured woman was bleeding from her head and transported to an area hospital, and had been driving the other vehicle.

While the injured driver told police the other vehicle was driving in her lane and struck her vehicle, the other driver said he had “lost control” of his vehicle and struck the woman’s vehicle.

Both vehicles suffered heavy front-end damage, and were towed from the crash scene.
