Essex Police/Fire: Sinking boat recovered

ESSEX — A sinking boat in the area of Clammers Beach and Conomo Point was safely pulled up onto a boat trailer around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police said.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Thursday at 2:32 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Martin Street. Officers, however, said they found no, though a few people were sent home.

Thursday at 7:30 a.m., police successfully made contact with a Western Avenue resident after a request for a well being check.

An alarm was sounding at a John Wise Avenue residence around 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, but the homeowner called the alarm company to confirm the alarm was false.
