Gloucester Police/Fire: City man nabbed on domestic charges

Gloucester Police/Fire

A Perkins Street man was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and violating a restraining order, after officers responded to a call at his home Monday about 5:15 p.m.

Police said Chris A. Spanks, 33, while in violation of a restraining order, grabbed a woman during an argument and applied pressure to a prior injury that had been healing.

Police arrested a 46-year-old man listed as homeless on three warrants, after finding the man sleeping on exhaust grates in front of the Cape Ann YMCA Tuesday about 5:08 a.m.

Officers said that Scott Michael Newman was wanted for providing liquor to a person younger than 21 years old, contributing to the delinquency of a child, and disturbing the peace.

He provided police with a Florida driver’s license and told officers he’d needed a place to sleep for the night. Police arrested Newman on the warrants.

Police arrested a 21-year-old Peabody man on charges of violating a restraining order active in Gloucester by sending text messages Monday about 12:29 p.m.

Police said they tracked Lykourgos J. Tzioumas to Peabody and arrested him there before transporting him back to Gloucester.
