Essex Police/Fire: Police probe Cogswell Road theft

ESSEX — Police said a Cogswell Road resident came into the station around 10 a.m. Monday to report that property had been stolen from his residence.

Police said the resident believes wooden split rail fencing was stolen sometime between March 29 and April 6.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, the theft occurred in the area of 30 Cogswell Road.

A Gloucester man is facing a criminal complaint for driving without a license and driving a vehicle that was not inspected.

Police said Renato Marins, 27, of 49 East Main St., was stopped Tuesday just before 5 a.m. for having no commercial markings on his vehicle.

Marin’s vehicle was towed from the area.

A small brush fire was reported in the area of Soginese Creek Road Monday just after 5:15 p.m. Police said the fire department extinguished the fire.

National Grid was also notified, as a tree limb was identified as the cause of the fire.

Tuesday at 4:20 p.m., a male Chebacco Terrace resident was transported to Beverly Hospital.
