High tea and history

MANCHESTER — Members of the Manchester Council on Aging had a high tea at the Manchester Historical Museum at Trask House on Wednesday afternoon.

Curator John Huss talked about the life of Abigail Trask, who built and owned the home.

The home contains a collection of artifacts, fine art, and period furniture, especially significant are examples of the fine furniture made in Manchester during the mid 19th century.

Other memorabilia on display reflect the town's important maritime history, and its later prominence as a summer vacation destination for the wealthy during the Gilded Age.
