Gloucester Police/Fire: Teens' reported break proves legitimate

Gloucester Police responded to a report of two teenagers breaking into a trailer on Emerson Avenue on Friday at 9:48 p.m.

The teens, according to police reports, were legitimately trying to get rowing equipment out of the trailer for a teacher at Gloucester High School. Police called the teacher, who confirmed the teens' report.

A Prospect Street resident reported Friday at 2:48 p.m. that someone had stolen her pitbull.

Police found the dog roaming around St. Ann Church.

A man called police to report Thursday at 8:50 p.m. that his backpack and $1,200 laptop were taken from his car while it was parked at the Fitness Zone in Blackburn Industrial Park.

Police dispersed a group of kids reportedly drinking around a campfire at Swinson's Field in East Gloucester. The group put out the fire and left without incident.

A Maplewood Avenue resident called to report Friday at 1:11 a.m. that intoxicated kids were pushing a shopping cart up Maplewood Avenue., Police found the kids, who returned the shopping cart.

A Prospect Street resident called to report that her neighbor was "yelling" upstairs Thursday at 9:29 p.m. Police spoke with the neighbor, who said she'd quiet down.

Police responded to a report Thursday at 4:45 p.m. of what they said was a minor motor vehicle accident on Dennison Street.

According to police reports, a truck had struck a parked vehicle while backing up, smashing a tail light and damaging the vehicle's bumper. Police assisted the parties in exchanging paperwork.

A woman called police Thursday at 5:58 p.m. to report a man and woman yelling at Sailor Stan's. The couple was gone by the time officers arrived, according to the police report.
