Pigeon Cove is a home to many people in Rockport, but it also houses an old castle, according to the Sandy Bay Historical Society.
Folklore tells us that it fishermen could see this stately building from afar, and referred to it as a castle. In reality, it is a fine example of an early American home, built around 1715, with a fascinating story to tell and many artifacts on display.
The Sandy Bay Historical Society will be hosting a free open house, with refreshments, at this historic home at the corner of Granite and Curtis streets Today from 2 to 4 p.m.
