Rockport Police/Fire: False alarms, transports keep crews busy

---- — ROCKPORT — Firefighters faced a number of false alarms throughout the week, while ambulance transports also kept emergency crews busy.

Thursday, at just past 9 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to Old Harbor Road to investigate a strange smell, they left the area at 9:15 p.m.

Firefighters responded to a false alarm Thursday at 12:45 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Cleaves Street.

Another false alarm rang through at the water filtration plant on upper Main Street at 8:21 p.m. Thursday.

A number of people were transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, police said.

On Thursday, a person was transported from School Street at 2:47 p.m., while a Dock Square man was transported to AGH at 9:30 p.m.

On Friday, a Beach Street woman was taken to AGH at 9:53 a.m. and another woman was transported from South Street at 10:47 a.m.
