---- — MANCHESTER — Police arrested a Manchester man who is facing numerous drug and theft charges after a neighbor called police to report a “suspicious person” on a property on Summer Street.
Peter Garland, 33, is facing a breaking and entering charge with intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building, two counts of larceny greater than $250, two counts of possession of class A narcotics; heroin and Adderall, possession of a class B narcotic, Suboxone, possession of a class C narcotic, Klonopin, malicious destruction of property and shoplifting.
Manchester police officers Christopher Locke, Ryan Machain, Zachary Johnson and Sgt. Mark McCoy responded to a Summer Street residence at 12:15 a.m. after a neighbor had called police and reported someone was by a shed.
Police said they found Garland in the woods nearby, and he appeared to be making trips with tools and valuable items stolen from the shed.
When questioned by police, Garland was also found with groceries believed to be shoplifted from Richdale’s; the store’s owner reported the groceries missing.
Two more dead harbor seals washed up in Manchester, one at 8:15 a.m. Thursday on Proctor Cove, the other on Long Beach at 9:15 a.m. Police notified officials from the New England Aquarium, who retrieved the seals.
Wednesday at 10:42 p.m., police advised Singing Beach patrons to put out beach fires that were not permitted.
