Rockport Police/Fire: One charged, one transported after accident

Rockport Police/Fire:

ROCKPORT — Police are seeking a criminal complaint for driving to endanger against a 23-year-old Peabody man after a car accident that sent a Westford woman to the hospital Thursday.

Police said Luiz Canela of Cottage Street, Peabody, crossed over the center line on Granite Street around 10:40 a.m., colliding with the vehicle driven by the Westford woman.

Both vehicles were towed from the area, firefighters and medical crews also responded to the scene. The Westford driver was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital.

Police notified the New England Aquarium Friday at 10 a.m. after finding a dead baby seal on White Wharf.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person on Stockholm Avenue at 8 a.m. on Friday. Officers, however, found that the person was a contractor looking for a specific house.

Police said a faulty burglar alarm sounded at 8 p.m. on Penzance Road, but the building was found to be secure.
